CLASS OF 2024 CAMERON IMPACT SCHOLARS ANNOUNCED BY THE BRYAN CAMERON EDUCATION FOUNDATION - A 4-YEAR, FULL TUITION, IMPACT-BASED AWARD

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation has announced this year’s 15 recipients of the 2024 Cameron Impact Scholarship. The members of the Class of 2024 Cameron Impact Scholars have earned a four-year scholarship covering the full tuition and educational expenses at their chosen collegiate institutions. Scholars are able to attend any U.S. university to which they are accepted, and major in any academic area of their choosing. This prestigious group of young leaders, were selected based on their unified goal of making a positive impact in the greater community and world.

The 2024 Cameron Impact Scholars mark the Foundation’s 8th class of scholars since the organization’s inception.

The Foundation reviewed the maximum 3,000 applications for this year’s Cameron Impact Scholarship from all 50 states and abroad. Following an online application process, 91 finalists from 31 states were selected for interviews. Amie Lucas, Executive Director, said, “This next generation of leaders is incredibly inspiring. The energy and determination that these students bring to their passions and projects year-over-year never ceases to amaze us. While each Scholar has a unique skill set, focus, and future goal, their common motivation is to make the world a better place. With the world facing new challenges every day, the Cameron Impact Scholars continue to inspire other changemakers and everyone at our organization to focus on productive solutions and collaboration. The 2024 cohort represent such an exciting addition to our community, and we are eager to see what lies ahead of them. We are honored to support them in this next stage of their education.”

A Cameron Impact Scholar must demonstrate a positive engagement in community service, exhibit strong leadership qualities, be active in extracurricular activities, and show strength in academics. Most notably, those identified as Cameron Impact Scholars must show the ability to make real, tangible contributions to their families, friends, and the greater society using their own individual gifts and talents.

The Foundation received over 2,700 applications for this year’s Cameron Impact Scholarship from all 50 states and abroad. Following an online application process, approximately 100 Finalists from 28 states were selected for interviews. Amie Lucas, Executive Director commented, “We could not be more excited to welcome this incredible group of impact makers into the Cameron Impact Scholar family. Each one of the 2022 Scholars gives us an incredible amount of hope in the future, and we are thrilled to see what may come from their growing connections with our larger Scholar cohort. LOS ANGELES, CA – The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation today announced its inaugural class of 2017 Cameron Impact Scholars. The Foundation has awarded a total of 15 Cameron Impact Scholarships – each a four-year, merit-based scholarship to cover the ‘full tuition and qualified educational expenses’ at the Scholars’ chosen collegiate institution. The awards have been granted to extraordinary individuals aiming to make a positive impact in their professional and personal relationships throughout the course of their lives.

The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation received more than 2,500 applications for this year’s Cameron Impact Scholarship from all 50 states, as well as from several United States’ citizens living abroad. Following an online application process, approximately 70 finalists from 26 states and/or territories were selected for in-person interviews. Amie Lucas, Executive Director, noted that “We were both honored and humbled at the caliber and volume of interest in our Program’s initial year. The 2017 Cameron Impact Scholars have demonstrated a positive engagement in community service, exhibited strong leadership qualities, have been active in extracurricular activities and shown strength in academics (unweighted GPA of 3.7 or higher). Most notably, those identified as Cameron Impact Scholars have shown a true passion to use their individual gifts and talents to make a tangible and positive impact on the world around them.

The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation is a private, family foundation which was established by the Bay Area philanthropist, Bryan Cameron, in 2015 on the principle of making an impact. Through its four-year undergraduate scholarship program, the Foundation aims to provide ample support for extraordinary young adults who see their college education as a stepping stone toward a lifetime of contribution to the greater good. Bryan Cameron, Founder, states, “One of the most worthy and impactful investments which one can make is in a young person’s education. We recognize and are grateful to the Institutions, Teachers, Families and Citizens which contribute their time, talent, and treasure to help educate our nation’s youth. It is our honor to invest in the lives of our nation’s next generation of leaders.”

The Cameron Impact Scholarship is merit-based and awarded annually to 10-15 students. It is intended to cover the ‘full tuition and all qualified educational expenses,’ as defined by the IRS. This year marks the first class of Cameron Impact Scholars since inception.
